What we did

A new build gets one chance at a roof that fits the house. This one got standing seam steel, in light grey, finished while the walls were still wrapped and waiting for siding.

Standing seam is a straight-ahead system: long steel panels run the slope, joined at raised seams that stand proud of the water line. No exposed fasteners across the field. Snow slides instead of piling, which matters on every roof in this part of BC. It is the roof we recommend when a homeowner tells us they want to put the ladder away for good.

We install the panels; the detail work is where a steel roof is won or lost. Flashing, fascia, and trim come out of our own sheet-metal shop, bent to fit this house instead of ordered close-enough. Ridge, eaves, and every penetration get metal formed for that exact spot. That is the difference you cannot see from the street and the one you never have to think about again.

What the work involved:

Building new in the West Kootenays? Get the roof conversation going early. Panel colour and profile choices are easier before the rest of the exterior is locked in, and a roofing crew that shows up when the framers need them keeps the whole schedule honest. We work with owners and builders across the region, and we quote in writing.
