What we did

The Rossland Pool is the kind of building a town keeps. It has stood through a lot of Kootenay winters, and its flat roof has taken every one of them. In 2026 our crew went up to work on it.

Flat roofs on older civic buildings earn their keep the hard way. Snow sits. Meltwater looks for a path. Membranes age at the seams and the edges first, where the flashing meets the field. That is where a repair starts: find where the water gets in, which is rarely where it shows up inside, then fix that spot so it stays fixed.

Torch-on membrane is our tool for work like this. The seams are heat-welded, not glued, so a repair bonds to the roof instead of sitting on it. It goes down clean in our climate, and it matches what a roof like this needs: a tough cap over the places that work hardest.

What the work involves:

This is working on a building the whole town uses, done the same way we handle any flat roof: no shortcuts, no drama, and a written record of what was done. If your building has a flat roof that is getting on in years, this is what looking after it looks like.

We work on flat roofs across Trail, Rossland, and the West Kootenays: commercial buildings, community buildings, shops, and homes. Most of the roofs we work on, we can keep in service for years before replacement makes sense. When replacement is the honest answer, we say so and put it in writing.
